What are site dumpers and what are their uses?

As you can see in our demonstration DVD, site dumpers are a heavy duty rugged 4 wheel drive earth or construction material mover, with the added advantage of legal road use. They are used on nearly if not every worksite around Europe and the U.S but are relatively new to the Australian market, Kenna Contract Hire being the first to offer this style of site dumper to the Australian market has carried out many modifications to these machines, to ensure they thrive in  Australian conditions and meet all safety standards, which ensures you as a customer and fellow Australian receive the same quality and safety features that you would expect from an Australian designed machine, as for their uses we have two main types of machine design the “straight tip” design and the “swivel skip” design, both styles come in various sizes from three to ten tonne models.

The straight tip design is most commonly used for stock piling applications or topsoiling of batters as when the skip or bin is tipped up fully the leading edge of the skip is used as a “dozing blade” to level the load when tipped.

The swivel skip design is most commonly used for backfilling trenches as it is possible to discharge the load in a controlled manner whilst on the move from either side of the machine enabling the operator the sand or metal up trenches with minimal manual labour required, also due to the high discharge height it is possible to tip into skip bins.

both these designs are also commonly used in projects where damage to environmental areas of the worksite is not tolerated by a client or customer, the site dumper achieves this due to its compact design and 360 degree operator view, resulting in less manoeuvring to get its load where it’s needed, the high traction flotation tyres are also an excellent advantage reducing the risk of bogging which as we all know only leads to a very messy operation to retrieve such machines.

Kenna Contract Hire does offer a free onsite demonstrations and pride ourselves on helping our customers achieve the very best results and client satisfaction for their next project.
